The Marcos Story

It all started in a small kitchen on West Fullerton Avenue. Marco Delgado, a first-generation Chicago resident with deep roots in traditional Italian cooking, dreamed of sharing the flavors of his grandmother's kitchen with the entire city. In 2009, that dream became Marcos — a neighborhood pizzeria built on the simple belief that great food brings people together.

What began as a single oven, two employees, and a handwritten menu quickly became one of Chicago's most-loved pizza destinations. Locals lined up around the block for the signature Marcos pizza — slow-fermented dough, hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes, and generous layers of premium toppings.

2009

Marcos Opens Its Doors

Marco Delgado opens the first Marcos location at 6008 W Fullerton Ave with a handwritten menu, two staff, and one wood-fired oven. The first-day line wraps around the block.

2012

Award-Winning marcos pizza

Marcos is named "Best Neighborhood Pizzeria" by Chicago Food Weekly. The signature Marcos Classic pie earns its reputation as one of the finest marco pizza experiences in the city.

2015

Online Ordering Launches

Marcos brings the marco's pizza experience to every home in Chicago with the launch of online ordering and our first delivery fleet — fulfilling over 500 orders in the first week alone.

2018

Menu Expansion & Catering

We expand our menu to 38 signature items including calzones, specialty pastas, and desserts. Marcos Catering is launched to serve Chicago's events, parties, and corporate clients.

2021

Community Milestone: 100K Pizzas

Marcos celebrates delivering its 100,000th pizza to the Chicago community. We launch our neighborhood giveback program, partnering with local food banks and youth organizations.

2024

A New Chapter

Marcos undergoes a full kitchen renovation, introducing new artisan recipes and a revamped digital ordering experience — all while keeping the soul of the original marcos pizza that started it all.
